Located at the head of Honister Pass at Borrowdale near Keswick in the centre of the Lake District, Honister Slate Mine offers a range of indoor and outdoor adventures for a range of ages and abilities.

Honister is also the last working slate mine in England. We produce the world famous Westmorland Green Slate a beautiful, functional 450 million year old material that has been extracted here for centuries.

We also produce the most thrilling, interesting and memorable Lake District Adventures, whatever the weather. From Via Ferrata to caving and infinity bridge to Mine tours we offer out of the ordinary adventures that are unique in the area.
